That’s not a genderbent Doc Ock cosplay, but a Carolyn Trainer/Doc Ock II cosplay! Look her up; she took over when Otto got killed during the Clone Saga and later was instrumental in bringing him back to life (with the help of Stunner and a Magic Ninja Cult).
She’s known as Lady Octopus these days… though, with Otto dead again (most likely, now that Superior Spider-Man’s over), I can but hope that she’ll come back and retake the “Doctor Octopus” mantle. I’m not holding my breath, though.
This was on my lawn this morning. There can only be one possible explanation.
When I was a kid, I identified with Spider-Man because backflips are cool and octopus men need to be punched.
When I was a teenager, I identified with Spider-Man because I knew how it felt to be the lonely, awkward outsider who never manages to fit in.
Now that I am grown and I have my own family, I identify with Spider-Man because I’m familiar with the burden of responsibility and sometimes having to do things that you don’t want to, simply because they need to be done.
Next week: Pokemon!
Bowie’s last day - we had permission for a year, so our Space Oddity video comes down today. One last look.
Brilliant. Thanks Col. for making space interesting and relevant.
Try to learn to breathe deeply, really to taste food when you eat, and when you sleep, really to sleep. Try as much as possible to be wholly alive with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell. And when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough.
This weekend was one hell of a ride. Rock and a Hard place is in the can and now comes post-production. Believe me when I say, shit happens. Lots of it. But you really do have to find quick solutions and move forward. Thanks to all who worked on the film and those who contributed to our Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. You rock!
